Sourav Ganguly confirmed venue for IPL 2021
Sourav Ganguly open ups on next IPL season and England tour of India
Recently, the Indian Premier League (IPL) hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the huge number of coronavirus cases in India. However, the 13th edition of the IPL is close to finishing the season as only two games are remaining.
At the end of IPL 2020, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly announce the spot for the next IPL season. He guaranteed that the 14th edition of the IPL will be host in India only. He also clarifies that England’s tour of India will also take place here only.
There were many speculations about the domestic cricket season of 2020-21. But former Indian skipper also revealed that domestic cricket will take place according to time table under the covid19 guidelines. Likewise, IPL played by following the rules of the biosecure bubble.
While talking to India today Sourav Ganguly said that in the next March and April IPL 2021 will commence off in India under the biosecure bubble. He also added that there are some rumors about IPL 2021 at UAE but it’s not true we hosted at UAE for this season only
Further, he continued and explains that there will not be any problem with hosting IPL in India. Because ISL is going to start in November at Goa itself. So it will help to gain positivity for the sports ahead of the pandemic and IPL helped a lot in it.
LUCKY TO FINISH THE IPL SAFELY
Sourav Ganguly explains the situation before the beginning of the IPL 2020. He told me that the BCCI team was scared to host the IPL ahead of the pandemic. The reason to scare was biosecure bubble technology never introduced before in cricket. So worried a lot about It for handling such conditions.
Furthermore, he claims that BCCI had tried a lot to understand the management scheme from the England cricket board. As they hosted the bilateral series in England during the high-intensity spread of coronavirus.
But for England, it was easy to handle the situation because there were only two squads present in one place. Whereas, there were 300 people in front of us at the hosting place, and need to handle them almost for more than one month.
Although there was less number of covid cases present in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). But the incident took place with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was scary to everyone. Because we were thinking about how many people will suffer from this condition.
In the end, they cope up with the situation they had suffered and fortunately win the battle against corona. Hence, except for 10-13 people testing covid positive everyone was safe and we were lucky to finish this IPL season safely, Sourav Ganguly concluded.
