Sanju Samson denied for a single in last match, and now Chris Morris hits 36 runs in 18 balls. and get a win against DC.
Morris gives a thumbs up to the dugout before Unadkat runs over for a big hug. The most expensive IPL buy has shown his worth here today. He was denied the strike by Samson in the previous game. He wasn’t striking it clean when he came in today. Took a while to get one off the sweet spot, but then once he found his range it was game over for DC who weren’t that impressive in the death either. The Capitals had worked so hard to get themselves into a dominant position despite having just 147 on the board. With Miller’s wicket, they were favourites. But Morris was standing in the way, cashing in on missed yorkers and ordinary slower balls, capping off a rare low-scoring game here at the Wankhede. There was a bit in the pitch with the extra grass helping the seamers. Unadkat made good use of it earlier to finish with figures of 3/15. He then chipped in with the bat as well, giving Morris company when the winning runs were scored.
Man of the Match:
Have a lot of experience now I can say of handling tough situations. Was kind of a homecoming for me. Was bowling with the kind of freedom I wanted with the new ball. Couldn’t do that last season. Had to step up this time. Didn’t get the first game so I knew the chances when they come, I have to take them. If you see the stats I think I only bowled about four-five change of pace. It was about hitting the hard lengths, hitting good lengths because it was doing a bit. Feel there was a bit of moisture. Made good use of it. Changes you as a person in whole (marriage). Feel more settled, more calmer. Nothing like coming to the ground hugging your wife and then sitting beside guys believing in you.—Jaydev Unadkat, Man of the Match

I have been waiting for this, no better feeling than this for a bowler. It (pitch) felt it was similar to what I saw from outside in the first game. There was good carry, there was some movement at the start too. It’s a great surface to play cricket on. It was something which we planned in our meetings, we wanted not to give them the extra bit of pace all the time. Their batsmen were all playing with hard hands. It came out well for us today. I’d love to chase it in 10 overs (chuckles), but I’m not batting, will leave it up to the batsmen.jaydev Unadkat
I thought Delhi bowled really well, David played an unplayable knock. T20 cricket anything can happen in the end, fortunately went our way in the end. (Wen asked about the single denied in the previous game) I was gonna run back no matter what to sacrifice because Sanju was hitting it so sweetly. Sanju was hitting it like a dream, I wouldn’t have been too upset if he had hit the last ball for a six. Dew plays a part here at the Wankhede, it does start to skid on. They hit the back of a length a lot better than we did. We got a few wickets early on, but they hit their lengths way better than we did. Our guys are experienced in taking pace off the ball and executed really well today. If we had to chase 140 odd when we got here, we would have taken it, so happy to get over the line. There are guys who get paid to bat and there are guys who get paid to slog, I know what I am. I am a slogger that swings everything I can, I play so much golf. The last game, the close game, we took so much out of that as a team. Chasing 222, it’s quite a daunting task. For us to get as close as we did on the day, we took a lot out of that first game of ours. Guys took a lot of confidence into the game, but it’s quite nice to know that we can win a game basically from anywhere after being down in the dumps. That’s T20 cricket.Chris Morris
Winning Captain, Sanju Samson (RR):
Had some hopes with Miller and Morris to come but to be really honest I thought that it was tough from there and I think the boys did really well to get over the line. It’s about reading the conditions. Was a bit sticky to start with. Hard lengths and mixing up with the variations was the key. That’s also our strength – three left-armers. They are slightly different from the other so we can use it in a different way. We had a chat with him, he was very confident and very clear (Sakariya). Can’t do much, was just praying inside. Always sit back and review my game. If I play that match again 100 times I would not take the single (on denying strike to Morris last time).
Losing Captain, Rishabh Pant (DC):
The bowlers did a good job at the start, but we let them get over us in the end. We could have bowled a bit better. It’s part and parcel of the game and dew played a big role in the end. We were 15-20 runs short. But at least there is something to gain from this match, the bowlers did a great job at the start. Hopefully if something like this happens we can pull it off. In the second innings, there was much more dew, so the slower ball wasn’t stopping. So we had to something in the second innings.
