Kolkata Knigh Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (KKRvSRH): Match no. 49 of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams KKR vs SRH, The match will begin on 03 October 2021 at 07:30 PM IST.

Team winner Prediction:

58%
KKR
42%
SRH

Key Points:

  • Both teams have a weak bowling attack
  • KKR is likely to miss Lockie Ferguson and Andre Russell for this match as well
  • SRH’s batting is not strong but we think it could match up quite well against the KKR bowling

KKR vs SRH Analysis:

The Kolkata Knight Riders will be taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second match this Sunday. IPL 2021 has not been kind to the Sunrisers who have officially been knocked out of running for the IPL playoffs. The Knight Riders did not make things any easier for themselves either by losing their match against the Punjab Kings.

KKR cannot afford any more slip-ups, especially against SRH, a team that all of its immediate rivals have brushed past. Three wins out of the five matches that KKR has played in UAE is a good return but KKR would have felt it could have done better.

A few changes could be seen in both lineups. Let us see what betting opportunities lie ahead in this match.

Match Details:

Date: October 03, 2021
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar
TV: Star Sports Network.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:

The conditions in Dubai have been the best for batting out of all the venues that we have seen. There is a nice amount of bounce and carry in the surface and it does not slow up too much towards the end either. However, the pitches are still just 150-160 score surfaces in general.

Bowlers that use their cutters and spinners are still going to be hard to score off.

KKR vs SRH- Head to Head

Kolkata Knigh Riders (KKR):

KKR lost the previous match against Punjab Kings largely due to picking an unbalanced side. They played just four bowlers and relied on Venkatesh Iyer to do the job with the ball. That, coupled with the fact that Lockie Ferguson and Andre Russel were not available for selection, left their bowling underpowered.

As a result, KKR was unable to defend what was a pretty decent total in the previous match.

The batting lineup for KKR is currently riding on the performances of its local players. Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi have been the best performers for KKR and Nitish Rana also seems to be batting quite well.

Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik, Tim Seifert, and Shubman Gill have all underperformed apart from the odd good innings.

Similarly, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy have been quite good in the bowling department but they have not picked up too many wickets. The fast-bowling lineup is not the best and can be put under pressure.

The loss of Andre Russell and Lockie Ferguson has upset the balance of the team and the lack of runs from Eoin Morgan is weighing heavily on the team as well.

Likely XI: Shubman Gill, Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan (captain), Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Tim Seifert, Sunil Narine, Shivam Mavi, Tim Southee, Varun Chakravarthy.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

SRH has nothing to lose now. It has already been eliminated, has moved past several of its senior players, and seems to be working towards the next IPL rather than wasting resources on this one.

Its batting is very heavily dependent on Kane Williamson and Jason Roy. Wriddhiman Saha has also been quite good at the top but he is not someone that is going to win you matches with the bat too often.

The middle-order of Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, and Abdul Samad are young, inexperienced, and a bit raw. SRH has decided to give them time to prove themselves and so we think they are going to play once more.

With Holder and Rashid in the lineup, there is a decent amount of depth on paper but the bulk of the runs have to come from the top-order. We think this lineup could match up quite well with the KKR bowling and should not be underestimated.

SRH has struggled with its bowling as well. None of its bowlers have pace and Sandeep Sharma + Bhuvaneshwar Kumar rely on getting movement with the new ball that has been absent in the UAE.

Siddharth Kaul is the death bowler alongside Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and neither of them has been at their best either. As a result, SRH’s bowling is all about Rashid Khan. Play him out without too much damage and you can get on top of the rest of the bowlers.

Likely XI: Jason Roy, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Kane Williamson (c), Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma.
