Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RRvRCB): Match no. 43 of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams RR vs RCB, The match will begin on 29 September 2021 at 07:30 PM IST.

Team winner Prediction:

56%
RCB
44%
RR

Key Points:

  • Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell have looked in terrific form and will not be easy to deal with for an inexperienced Royals’ bowling unit
  • As evident from their last two matches, Rajasthan Royals appear to be a little too over-reliant on Sanju Samson to do bulk of the scoring
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a win when these two sides met for the last time and should be more confident of the two sides

RR vs RCB Analysis:

The race for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2021 is gearing up and fans are ready to feast. This season has already been a turnaround ride for most sides and it is only going to get more intense from here on out. There are five sides still fighting for third and fourth place on the ladder and none of those five teams are really there yet.

The upcoming match which is to be played between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore could go a long way for both the sides to walk on the qualification path. While the Royals Challengers seem to be in a good position, a defeat here will land them in trouble. Royals, on the other hand, are already in that position and desperately need a win here.

Match Details:

Date: September 29, 2021
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar

Pitch and Weather Conditions:

The conditions in the previous match wre pretty good for batting and we are hoping for the same thing this time around. The ball came onto the bat a lot better and players were able to play through the line. Even if the pitch does slow up a little, a score of around 150-160 should be very much on the cards.

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

Just when Rajasthan Royals got their chance to advance in the race for the playoffs, they bottled it up. With four wins from nine matches, the Royals looked well prepared to move up to the fourth spot on the ladder, but their chances were jeopardized by a loss at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals have struggled for consistency in the UAE leg of the tournament. As it currently stands, they have four wins from ten matches and are sixth with eight points and a net run rate of -0.369. They not only need to win their remaining matches, but they also need to improve their net run rate, just for that extra cushion.

While the Royals have lost a few matches despite being in good shape, repeated injuries and team reshuffles have not helped them either. They are missing almost all the foreign players of their first choice and it has already affected their performance. In the only match they won in this leg, they looked in a terrifying position for the most part of the second innings before they were somewhat brainwashed by the Punjab batsmen.

Like his performances, the Royals too have been quite inconsistent about their selections. He has constantly played with his overseas combination and has also played the batsmen out of position. Case in point – Liam Livingston, who has played two different positions in the three matches he has played. Also, he chose Jaydev Unadkat, who hasn’t been seen in his prime for a very long time.

Overall, Rajasthan Royals have a lot of issues that they need to resolve and they are in a winning position. They have some positives in Sanju Samson’s form, Mustafizur’s consistent bowling and Tewatia’s contribution with the ball in the middle overs, but they are few. We see that they are making some changes in their playing XI in the upcoming match and it certainly won’t help in settling the team. Looking at the way they have performed, they will need some individual talent to perform and if one manages to do so, the Royals will be tough to beat.

Likely XI: Evin Lewis, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Mahipal Lomror, Liam Livingstone, Riyan Parag, R Tewatia, Chris Morris, Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):

Royal Challengers Bangalore ended the UAE slump with a resounding victory over Mumbai Indians in their previous match. Now that they have wins under their belt, they will try to use the momentum and convert it into a streak, which was not easy to achieve in the tournament. They were pretty consistent in the first half of the tournament and would like to repeat the same.

At the moment, Royal Challengers are third on the points table, but they still need to win at least two more matches to make it to the playoffs, mainly due to a poor net run-rate of -0.359. . They have 12 points from ten matches with six wins. Notably, in the second half, however, the Challengers have lost two of their three matches.

They started their second half campaign with a nine-wicket loss at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders. He then suffered another comprehensive defeat against the Super Kings. Just when they looked to be on the losing side, they corrected their mistakes and came back to secure a decent win over Mumbai Indians in what was arguably a much needed match.

Glenn Maxwell played the defining role of the match, scoring 56 off 37 and then taking two crucial wickets. Also, Kohli and Bharat have a few runs under their belts, which must have certainly helped the challengers’ confidence. Having said that, they will still be concerned about the form and batting position of AB de Villiers, who hasn’t found the pristine touch he is known for.

Also, Royal Challengers Bangalore were nervous ahead of the last match, which was evident from the changes made to their playing XI and it will be interesting to see who they come up with in the upcoming match. Considering that he won the last match, the only change we expect from him is to bring in Wanindu Hasaranga to replace Kyle Jamieson or Dan Christian, depending on the circumstances.

Overall, the Challengers did a great job leaving Mumbai Indians behind, but taking on Rajasthan Royals may require an entirely different strategy. RCB certainly have the answers available and they won’t be too worried and if they can perfect their playing XI and have a playing XI to perform, they should be in business.

Likely XI: V Kohli, Devdutt Padikal, KS Bharat, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Shahbaz Ahmed, DT Christian, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, YS Chahal.
