Team winner Prediction:

RR
45%
SRH

Key Points:

  • Bowling has been doing pretty well for the Royals with Mustafizur, Sakariya, and Tewatia utilizing the surface brilliantly to their advantage
  • Sunrisers are a little too over-reliant on David Warner and Kane Williamson to score the bulk of the runs, who, however, have not been in best of form so far
  • Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Liam Livingstone have been in terrific form for the Royals and will be difficult to deal with

SRH vs RR Analysis:

The Indian Premier League is currently underway and Saturday was a day full of emotions. It was a Saturday and in each of those matches there was excitement for one side and pain for the other. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals both lost their matches, despite chasing under-par totals. They will be up against each other in the upcoming event of the tournament and that match will at least be everything to play for the Royals.

Both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will now travel to Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai to play the 40th match of the tournament. The match will be played on the evening of Monday, 27 September 2021. Sunrisers Hyderabad may have been out of the race already, but they still have a lot to play for. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, desperately need to win this win to stay ahead of their competitors. This is definitely going to be a cracking competition, definitely not one to miss out on.

Match Details:

Date: September 27, 2021
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar
TV: Star Sports Network.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:

This is the time of year when temperatures can really have an impact in Dubai. With the temperature likely to reach 37 degrees, it will be a test of fitness of the players playing in this upcoming competition. We expect the surface to be neutral throughout the game with spinners coming into the picture in the middle phase of the innings. Taking the pace with the ball will be the mantra of the fast bowlers here. For those reasons it would be the best time to bat against the new ball. Given all this, the team batting first should try to score at least 170 runs on the board.

SRH vs RR- Head to Head

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Being a Sunrisers Hyderabad fan must be a heartbreaking affair. They used to be a very strong side once, but this year they are just a shadow of themselves. Besides, that time is not that long ago. They have been so bad this year that they still have five matches to go, but are practically out of contention already.

Sunrisers have won just one out of the total nine matches they have played and their net run rate is -0.637. He has done very well with the ball so far, but his performance with the bat has not been satisfactory. The same was displayed in their previous match as well as they failed to chase down a fairly modest total of 125 at a venue known for high scoring affairs.

Overall, Sunrisers Hyderabad have been far from their best and even though they have done well in the patch, it is not enough. They desperately need their seniors to move forward and unless that happens, it will be very difficult for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Likely XI: David Warner, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Kedar Jadhav, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed

Rajasthan Royals (RR):

Rajasthan Royals would be set to lose a match they had a great deal of control over. On a surface that was not too difficult to bat on, the Royals gave the Delhi bowlers a lot of easy wickets and it eventually paid off. They are still on the hunt for the playoffs but will have to come out of their skins if they want to qualify from here.

The Royals are currently ranked seventh on the points table, but they can quickly move up to fourth if they are able to register a win in this upcoming competition and other results come their way. Of the total nine matches, the Royals have won four and lost five. His net run rate is -0.319, which he would like to improve further.

In their previous match, against Delhi Capitals, the Royals arguably took the matter very casually with the bat before things got out of their control. Barring Sanju Samson, who was brilliant with the bat and the lone warrior with his 70-run knock, none of his batsmen managed to hold on to the wicket. The biggest disappointment, perhaps, was Liam Livingstone, who finished with an individual score of 1 in the first over.

Overall, Rajasthan Royals have a decent team on paper, with players doing well. However, the absence of Chris Morris in the previous match meant that he was left a little short on batting depth and this left him with an injury. There are likely to be some changes in their playing XI in the next match and it will be interesting to see who will be their four players overseas. Despite this, if they are able to perform to the best of their ability, they are going to be a tough team to grow.

Likely XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C&W), Liam Living Stone, David Miller, Mahipal Lomror, Ryan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Karthik Tyagi, Chetan Sakaria, Mustafizur Rahman, Tabrez Shamsi.
