IPL 2021: Match 37- SRH vs PBKS Live, Preview, Dream11 Prediction, Report and Live Streaming

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings (SRHvPBKS): Match no. 37 of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams SRH vs PBKS, The match will begin on 25 September 2021 at 07:30 PM IST.

Team winner Prediction:

55%
PBKS
45%
SRH

Key Points:

  • Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul look in terrific form and could be tough to deal with on a ground with short boundaries
  • The Sunrisers are a little too over-dependent on Kane Williamson and David Warner to help them score a fighting total
  • With almost all bases covered and the availability of explosive batsmen right through, Punjab Kings have a better-balanced side between the two, at least on paper

SRH vs PBKS Analysis:

Indian Premier League is a fast-paced tournament and we have just seen how quickly the tables can turn here. Kolkata Knight Riders were languishing near the bottom of the points table in the first half of the points table and they have certainly surprised one and all with the performance they have put. We aren’t even a week into the second half and the Knight Riders are already looking good in the top half of the table.

In the upcoming match of the competition, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be looking to turn things around in a similar fashion in what might be their last chance to stay in the hunt. They will be up against Punjab Kings, who too are desperate to get some points under their belt

Match Details:

Date: September 25, 2021
Time: 07:30 PM (IST)
Venue: Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah
Live Streaming: Disney+ Hotstar
TV: Star Sports Network.

Pitch and Weather Conditions:

There is no threat of rain for this match as can be expected in the desert! The pitch is expected to be very good for batting with a nice amount of bounce and carry. The small boundaries make Sharjah a six-hitting paradise. There were more sixes per ball hit in Sharjah than at any other venue in IPL 2020. There is no reason why that should not be the case once more.

A high-scoring match seems likely.

SRH vs PBKS- Head to Head

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):

Sunrisers Hyderabad were already in a spot of bother coming into the second half of the tournament and the loss against the Delhi Capitals have pushed them further into the soup. They are desperately looking for a turnaround to stay alive in the tournament and nothing less than a win would do. At the moment, Sunrisers Hyderabad have nothing working for them and the numbers show that.

The Sunrisers have so far played eight matches and have won just one. In addition to the couple of points that they have, they have a pretty poor net run rate of -0.689, which will come into the picture if Sunrisers do manage to get a string of wins under their belt. At the moment, it seems unlikely, but if the likes of David Warner and Kane Williamson begin to fire, Sunrisers could be a force to deal with.

They were dealt with the familiar problem of losing early wickets against the Capitals as well and with David Warner and Manish Pandey already out of form, it was solely upon Kane Williamson to take his side out of the muddle. He too perished under the pressure of scoring quickly, leaving his side in a spot of bother. Thanks to brief cameos by Abdul Samad and Rashid Khan, Sunrisers managed to put up a fighting score, which hardly proved to be enough against an accomplished Delhi Capitals’ unit.

The bottom line for the Sunrisers Hyderabad is simple. They continue to tread on the thin ice and desperately need inspiration. They need their batsmen to score runs and for that to happen, they desperately need David Warner to step up. Sunrisers do not have the services of Jonny Bairstow, who was their best batsman in the first half and the onus now lies with Warner and Williamson. Kedar Jadhav’s form has not helped the Sunrisers either.

Not only the on-field performances but the Sunrisers were also hampered by their team going through Covid-19 scares as T Natarajan tested positive right before the beginning of the previous match. Despite that, however, the Sunrisers’ bowling attack looks decent with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Jason Holder, and Khaleel Ahmed bowling well.

All in all, the Sunrisers have a decent side that looks a bit incomplete with David Warner not performing. If the Sunrisers can somehow get their top-order to fire, they have enough resources to get better of even the best in the business.

Likely XI: David Warner, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Kedar Jadhav, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed

Punjab Kings (PBKS):

Punjab Kings once again find themselves hustling for the fourth spot – something they will be well familiar with the experience they have had over the years. Despite the loss in their last match, they still have things very much in their control, but a loss here would make things exceedingly interesting for them. Punjab Kings have made a habit of losing matches from winning positions and that is something that they will be wary of when they take the field on Saturday.

The Kings looked ever so close to getting their fourth win of the season in the last match, but they were left shocked as the Royals sneaked in with a terrific performance in the last two overs. With that defeat, the Kings dropped down to the seventh spot on the ladder, but are still pretty much in business. A win in the upcoming contest will likely push them to the sixth spot and they can then take it from there. However, they would also want to improve their net run rate, which currently stands at -0.345.

Punjab Kings did most of the things right in the previous match, only to bottle it up in the final two overs of the chase. Needing just eight runs off the last two overs, they allowed Rajasthan Royals a foot in the door, something that the Kings have done a little too often to their liking. Despite the loss, however, the Kings had plenty of positives to take from that game and they will be upbeat going into this upcoming contest.

The biggest positive for Punjab was the way their bowlers came back at the death overs. The Kings have been guilty of giving away too many runs at the death, but the way Mohammad Shami and Arshdeep Singh performed in the previous match should inspire a lot of confidence. Mohammad Shami, in particular, was difficult to hit away and is a perfect candidate for the team’s best bowler punt in the upcoming contest. To add icing to the cake, the odds for the bet appear to be pretty reasonable as well.

Apart from the bowling, the way Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul batted at the top was certainly something that caught everyone’s attention. Not only the opening partnership, the men to follow also managed to hit the ground running and that is another positive that the Kings will take. With Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul looking in terrific touch already, betting on a fifty-plus opening partnership seems to be a pretty lucrative option. After all, the pair already has nine fifty-plus partnerships in twenty matches they have opened in.

While it is difficult to finger out a weakness in Punjab’s team, on paper, we might see Deepak Hooda facing the ax in the upcoming contest. He was not only carted away for plenty but also failed to do the needful with the bat when it mattered the most. We expect Shahrukh Khan to take up his place in the playing eleven. Also, if Punjab Kings do try to pick horses for courses, Nathan Ellis can come in for Adil Rashid in conjunction with Bishnoi replacing Ishan Porel, largely because of the dimensions that Sharjah Cricket Ground has.

All in all, Punjab Kings have a decent side on paper and we don’t think that the result of the last match will have a major impact on their approach in the upcoming match. They have done better than their position on the ladder suggests and if they are able to keep pressure-cooker situations under their control in the upcoming contest, beating them is going to be a difficult task.

Likely XI: KL Rahul (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, Fabien Allen, Ishan Porel, Adil Rashid, Harpreet Brar, Mohd. Shami, Arshdeep Singh.
