VIVO IPL 2021: CSK vs RR Preview & Dream 11 Prediction
- CSK has a better batting lineup, even though there is not a big drop in the order of Rajasthan Royals.
- Both teams have won their previous matches and will be full of confidence
- CSK have been more confident in the two matches played so far.
Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals (CSKvRR) : The 12th match of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams CSKvRR, The match will begin on 19 April at 7:30 pm.
The Chennai Super Kings roared once again as they comprehensively blasted the Punjab Kings and showed that they are not just here to make the numbers. CSK is now going to be with Rajasthan Royals as IPL 2021 speeds up.
The Royals were pulled out of a difficult situation in the previous match by David Miller and Chris Morris. It would turn out that he would have got his first win on the board, but he needed to improve to be able to make a serious run at the title.
The last few matches have been surprisingly low scoring at Wankhede and this is something that the Rajasthan Royals might struggle with a bit more. Both teams have vastly different approaches to building an ideal team as CSK relies on experience while RR supports youth.
CSK performed brilliantly in the last match, led by Deepak Chahar with the new ball. Deepak Chahar managed to get wickets inside the powerplay with the accuracy of wicketkeeping, which always kept the opposition on the backfoot.
A lot of teams are at the top with their batting lineup and a pair of early wickets set them back. If Chahar is able to do so against Rajasthan Royals, he will give his team a great chance to win.
The Rajasthan Royals were lucky on the right to result against the Delhi Capitals in the previous match. He made a lot of mistakes, but survived the spectacular performance of his two foreign players.
Date: April 19, 2021 (Thursday).
Time: 07:30 PM (IST), 02:00 PM (GMT).
Venue: Wankhede stadium, Mumbai
CSK vs RR: Head to Head:
|Chennai Super Kings||Head to Head||Rajasthan Royals|
|14 won||23 Matches||9 won|
|109 runs||Lowest Score||126 runs|
|246 runs||Highest Score||223 runs|
Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The wicket in Wankhede has been quite cheating in the last few matches. It started to be a very high scoring venue, but the last two matches have been very low scoring in both innings. The players have compromised the surface a little under the grass and this gives the bowlers some help.
We still feel that the last two games had a brief break because of some new ball great performances. The score for Wankhede is still around 170–180.

CSK vs RR Probably XI:
Batting: The batting lineup for CSK is also just finding its feet. Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, and Moeen Ali have all scored runs but the only one who has really looked fluent is Moeen Ali. We would love to see Ambati Rayadu bat in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad but that is not likely to happen any time soon.
X-Factor: Moeen Ali
Bowling: Sam Curran bowled well but was helped by Chahar taking all those wickets at the other end. Also, Shardul Thakur was quite poor and needs to improve. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Dwayne Bravo give CSK a lot of options while bowling but this is not the most dangerous of attacks in good batting conditions. Earlier, Deepak Chahar’s wickets in the powerplay used to be a bonus but now they are a must.
Predict XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf Du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C/WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
Batting: The batting order looks a bit thin especially at the moment as Jos Buttler is not scoring. Manan Vohra has been in the IPL for over a decade, but has never actually noted anything for an extended period. In the middle order, Shivam Dubey and Riyan Parag are playing on promises rather than performances. This puts the onus of runs on Sanju Samson and David Miller followed by cameos from Chris Morris. Samson always seems to score runs against CSK while Miller has also played some spectacular knocks against CSK when he was with Punjab.
X-Factor: David Miller and Chris Morris
Bowling: The loss of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer has greatly affected the bowling attack. Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakaria, Jaydev Unadkat, Chris Morris, and Rahul Tewatia do not make a great bowling unit.
Predict XI: Jos Buttler (Wk), Manan Vohra, Sanju Samson (C), David Miller, Riyan Parag, Chris Morris, Rahul Tewatia, Shivam Dube, Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman
