Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings (DCvPBKS) : The 11th match of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams DCvPBKS, The match will begin on 18 April at 7:30 pm. There is a first Double Header of VIVO IPL 2021.

With six already being played, the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League did not start well. All sides are looking well balanced and most matches are going right down to the wire. Each of the eight teams have already tasted success, except Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital suffered disappointing defeats after a brilliant start in their respective matches. They are now ready to take on each other in the North-Indian Derby, which is to be played on 18 April 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The surface of Mumbai is consistent with such strategies that employ these two sides. Both sides have fast bowlers who like to hit the deck and swing the ball quickly. The match contains all the ingredients of an ideal recipe and a contest winner is on the card.

Just when the Delhi Capitals looked invincible after their blistering defeat to the Chennai Super Kings, their weaknesses were exposed by an ardent Rajasthan Royals. The absence of Shreyas Iyer in the middle order took a long time as the wickets continued to falter at regular intervals in their last match. Apparently, the Capitals now appear to be a top-heavy team, and it will be imperative for them to contribute well from the middle-order.

Surprisingly, the Delhi team became a better team in the first match, in which they were missing their key players. Although Kagiso Rabada’s return strengthens the Capitals on paper, he could not hold his nerve in the death overs against Chris Morris. Another culprit for the Capitol was Tom Curren, who failed to deliver the plan and was saddled for a run. However, Chris Woakes was a silver lining for him, as he delivered in death as well as powerplay. Considering the Capitals are having trouble with their death bowling, we expect them to replace Tom Curren with Enrique Norje in this upcoming match.

It was not long ago when it appeared that the change of name was working for the Kings. However, he was handed a reality check by the Chennai Super Kings in his most recent match, in which he lost easily. That loss broadened some of the weaknesses that the Kings wanted to decide on heading into the tournament. They have the strength and resources available and it will be interesting to see how they fare in the upcoming matches.

On paper, Kings XI Punjab have a top order that is good in any form. However, he has been found wanting in execution and will need something special from his middle order in the upcoming match. Mohammad Shami, Shah Rukh Khan, and Deepak Hooda, Punjab already have some positives they want to make. If they can get their balance right and are able to showcase their potential, Punjab will be a tough side to deal with for the Kings.

Wankhede has generally been a high scoring venue in the shortest format of the game, but we have seen scores of all types this season. This season there were some high-scoring contests, but we have seen some low-scoring matches as of late. Having said that, the fact is that this is a ground that gives batsmen an excellent value for their shots. Short borders ensure that even mishits clean the ropes with remarkable ease. Dew will be a factor in the upcoming match and both teams will be wary of this fact. Given the recent results and historical totals, a score of around 180 in the upcoming competition will be equal here. Keeping in view the dew factor, the team batting first would like to score at least 10-15 runs with an equal score.

A score of around 200 should be the minimum that teams aim to bat first.

Batting: Batting well, the Delhi Capitals are struggling with a lack of firepower in between and this was evident in their previous match as well. With Iyer absent, now with Rishabh Pant, who is in good form, the team may find it difficult to get wickets early. Other than that Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw look good at the top.

X-Factor: Rishabh Pant, The game changer for DC

Bowling: On paper, bowling is definitely his strength with the presence of Chris Woakes, Cagiso Rabada and Enrique Norje. Ashwin is not really impressed yet and with the surface already to begin with, he could prove to be a trump card for him. Overall, they are a good team but they will need their stalwarts.

Predict XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (C/WK), Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Woakes, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Tom curran, Avesh Khan

Batting: The biggest strength for the Punjab Kings last year was the continuation of their opening pair. It was so good that Chris Gayle could not even make it to the top two and came in one place. This year, however, the Punjab opening pair also did not hold the same shape as last year. Mayank Agarwal is going through a rough patch and this has put a lot of pressure on KL Rahul. Given that the IPL is a fast tournament and needs to be changed, we can see Chris Gayle swapping with Mayank Agarwal.

X-Factor: Chris Gayle at no. 3 and Jhe Richardson’s bat at number seven is not ideal, but more and more teams are returning six of their batsmen to work with him.

Bowling: Mohammed Shami, Jhe Richardson, Riley Meredith, Arshadip Singh, and Murugun Ashwin make it a good bowling lineup, Punjab Kings have brought some fast bowlers from the auction and while they should have improved their bowling, it has not happened yet. Riley Meredith and Jhe Richardson have been expensive and need to adapt to Indian conditions. Also, the strategy of going with just five bowlers does not work for Punjab, and to add insult to injury,

Predict XI: Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (c, wk), Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, shahrukh khan, Jhye Richardson, Murugan Ashwin, Riley Meredith, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh.
