VIVO IPL 2021: RCB vs KKR Preview & Dream 11 Prediction
- KKR has more depth in the batting order.
- RCB is still unbeaten in IPL 2021.
- More than six firepower in the middle gives KKR an edge.
Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders (RCBvKKR) : The 10th match of VIVO IPL 2021 will be played between these two teams RCBvKKR, The match will begin on 18 April at 3:30 pm.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have started IPL 2021 in a grand style and have won both their matches so far. This is not a situation that RCB fans have found themselves in too many times in the past, but the start of this season has certainly been encouraging.
RCB are now going to face Kolkata Knight Riders who lost their last match quite dramatically. Nevertheless, KKR have played good cricket so far and are in a position to win both their matches. Not a single bad game of cricket makes it a bad team.
The conditions in Chennai have challenged both the teams and we have no doubt that spin is going to play a big role once again. The team that is able to adapt quickly is going to come out on top.
Devdutt Padikkal’s return to the top of the order is a positive sign for RCB. He was a prolific scorer for him last season and he had an incredible Vijay Hazare tournament led by IPL 2021. Virat Kohli can lose in T20 cricket and Glenn Maxwell is quite inconsistent. A lot will depend on AB de Villiers in this match.
KKR may not do well in the few overs it has lost the game, but instead focus on what it helped to reach the winning position. Eoin Morgan is a brilliant captain and always feels that is the ideal match-up.
We are certain that he recognizes and will attack Virat Kohli or Abraham de Villiers early.
Date: April 18, 2021 (Saturday).
Time: 03:30 PM (IST), 10:00 AM (GMT).
Venue: M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
RCB vs KKR: Head to Head:
|Royal Challengers Bangalore||Head to Head||Kolkata knight Riders|
|12 won||26 Matches||14 won|
|49 runs||Lowest Score||84 runs|
|213 runs||Highest Score||222 runs|
Pitch and Weather Conditions:
The conditions in Chennai are going to be slow, low and very helpful for the spinners. The new ball is when batsmen can play freely as the situation starts to change dramatically after that. It has been very difficult to hit sixes in the matches played here and the death overs have not been very useful for the batting side.
Chennai batting looks very good at first score of around 155-165.

RCB vs KKR Probably XI:
Batting: RCB have a strong batting lineup and we like how they have spread their resources this time around. At the top, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli can control the innings while Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers can handle the back end. Shahbaz Ahmed is batting at number three in an attempt to be aggressive, but we are not even sure if he is going to work.
Bowling: RCB bowling has been better than in previous seasons. Mohammad Siraj had a lot of fire in the previous match while Harshal Patel is currently the leading wicket taker of IPL 2021. Shahbaz Ahmed changed the direction of the match in one over and is definitely going to bowl a lot more. Kyle Jamieson has not been very effective with the ball and Yuzvendra Chahal’s poor form continues in this IPL, which is a major concern going forward.
Predict XI: Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Washington Sundar, Daniel Christian, Kyle Jamieson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj
Batting: KKR’s batting is quite strong at the top. Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana have started well. Rahul Tripathi will run at number three and while he did not score runs in the last match, he scored a lot of runs in the first match. The real problem is in the middle-order. Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik are out of form while Andre Russell is not getting big hits. Shakib Al Hasan is a bit below the batting line-up and can be picked alongside Rahul Tripathi. This batting lineup has a lot of power and potential.
X-Factor: Andre Russell is a bit sketchy but there is a lot of power there. On a good day, Andre Russell could get a lot of runs very quickly.
Bowling: Among bowlers, Prasidh Krishna has been quite expensive in both matches. KKR may think of bringing in someone like Shivam Mavi or Kamlesh Nagerkoti for this match. Pat Cummins has a good record against Virat Kohli and is also bowling well. With Varun Chakraborty and Andre Russell ending the bowling attack, KKR have a fairly good bowling attack. The team is not playing at its best yet and that is why it is available at a fairly good rate right now.
Predict XI: Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan (c), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Andre Russell, Shakib Al Hasan, Pat Cummins, Harbhajan Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy
