The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Saturday announced a 16-man squad for the ODI series against Pakistan. The England cricket team has to play a three-match ODI series and an equal number of T20I series against Pakistan. The ODI series between the two countries will start from July 8, while the last ie the third ODI will be played on July 13. Somerset batsman Tom Benton has been included in this squad, who has been included in England’s squad for the third ODI against Sri Lanka to be played in Bristol on Sunday.
The ECB said in its official statement that the team for the T20 series to be played against Pakistan will be announced after the ODI series. The ODI series is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League and has 40–40 points between the two teams, Pakistan and Australia. However, on the basis of better run rate, Green Army is in third place. On the other hand, England’s team is at the first place in the points table with 60 points, while Bangladesh is at number two with 50 points.
England’s team is currently playing ODI series against Sri Lanka and immediately after that it has to take part in ODI and T20 series against Pakistan. After this, the English team will play a five-match Test series against India from August 4. For this test series, Team India is present in England under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
